Working with Fuzz is always easy and a lovely creative experience. Fuzz is very communicative and works closely with all of her clients, wherever they are in the world
Most of Fuzz's work is delivered online but of course she is happy to meet people face-to-face if possible.
Fuzz will provide upfront pricing and deadlines which will be stricly adhered to.
The Fuzz Way
I start with sketches of characters and thinking about the book as a whole. Sometimes ideas come straight away, sometimes I will need to let it ponder about in my head. Something as simple as a bus going by can trigger an idea. Often I will be thinking about a number of projects at once.
I will then work the sketches up into final drawings which will be presented to the client- usually via email. Along with the sketches will be the papers I have selected to use for the collage. Colour roughs can be provided but I usually find my description good enough for most clients.
The final illustration process can be realtively quick. I pour massive bursts of energy into the work, with paper flying about the studio. I have been likened to Jessica Fletcher at the typewriter-Humpf!
To finish the collage to what I feel is an important standard I will add tone using paints and pens, then the final scan and off for approval.
I always make sure I send in work early in case changes need to be made, which can actually be done quite easily with collage. As I always say, "there's stuck and then there's stuck".
For the final presentation I usually send scanned images online but am also happy to post final artworks- and that's the Fuzz Way.
